Alright, Hong Kong trip last month with the family for 7days. It wasn’t my first time round travelling to Hong Kong, the last time was purely business trip(helping my dad out); this time round was 2days of business and 5 days of leisure. What I’m trying to say is that my impression of Hong Kong is really bad after this trip, my sisters got cultural shock and my mum even said it will be her last time travelling to Hong Kong. I’m not sure if the Hong Kongers’ attitude are deteriorating or what, they are extremely extremely rude, you will get scolded very often if you’re there because they get irritated by the smallest thing. The only people that are nice and polite are those working at High-end places but cannot guarantee that all are nice.
Okayy enough of complaints. there are good days as well. For shoppings we went HarbourCity which is a really really huge shopping area which has practically all the designer brands, spent a splurge over there 😀 Agryle centre was the place that we went for cheap shopping, its pretty much like bugis street or bkk’s platinum mall. Had a meal at Australian Dairy Company and felt that it is seriously over-rated there is nothing special about it, the food standard can be found in many other Hong Kong cafes. Yes! 1-Michelin star Tim ho wan thumbs-up to the crispy bbq pork buns, the lotus leaf wrapped glutinous rice was also good very fragrant of the leaf.
Spent one of the days at Ocean Park and it was the best day at Hong Kong! We spent all day playing the rides rather than visiting the animals. Through that day I found out that I might grown braver as I age, I was never ever a theme park kind of person when I was young, the rides scares me to death and I wouldn’t play; the most I could handle was pirate ship. So at Ocean park I played one of the smaller roller coaster which I would have rejected to play if it was the me before, I laughed so hard that my sisters thought I was crazy. I laughed because I felt funny about me being so afraid of the rides when it can be so fun. Caught one of the dolphins and seals show too and it was impressive compared to the ones at sentosa and I would say the animals at Hong Kong are pretty big in size, probably overweight?
Didn’t visit the Disneyland as the sisters are dead beat after Ocean Park but oh well, even the air stewardess told me the Hong Kong Disneyland is a waste of time. So there are good and bad to visit Hong Kong, it’s a nice place to feast and shop just that the people are really rude and there are a lot of mainlanders.
